When I allow myself to dream I dream big When I allow my souls desires to roam free They quickly move throughout my body Filling my lungs and expanding my throat The kinetic energy of possibility vibrates the whole of me Willing my heart to beat to its rhythm but my mind isn’t quite ready It sends out it’s two goons thoughts “nope thats not the life for you” “the real world is hard” And images Of homeless ppl and refugees Suddenly I find myself choking on fear I question are these desires to big for me? Will this monster of a dream I have inside of me break lose and gobble me? No! No! that’s an impossibility cuz I’m gonna make my dreams small so I can keep them right here tucked under my spleen while I choke silently.
